Affiliate disclosure
Transparency is important to us. Here's how Canada Spirit earns money and how it affects (or rather, doesn't affect) our content.
How we earn money
Canada Spirit participates in the affiliate programs of GetYourGuide and Viator (Partner ID P00305208, a Tripadvisor company). When you click on a link to an activity or tour and make a booking, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
These affiliate links are clearly integrated into our content where relevant. They look like regular links and lead to the GetYourGuide or Viator booking page for the specific activity being discussed. Viator product cards are labelled with a "Viator" badge.
What this means for you
- No extra cost: You pay exactly the same price whether you use our link or go to GetYourGuide or Viator directly.
- No sponsored rankings: We never rank or recommend activities based on commission rates. Our recommendations are based on research, reviews, and genuine quality.
- No pay-to-play: Activities and tours featured on this site are chosen because we think they're worth your time, not because someone paid for placement.
Why we do this
Running a travel website takes significant time and resources. Affiliate commissions allow us to keep Canada Spirit free, ad-free, and independent. Without this income, we wouldn't be able to research, write, and update the guides you rely on.
Our editorial independence
Our affiliate relationships with GetYourGuide and Viator never influence our editorial decisions. If we think an activity isn't worth it, we'll say so. If a free alternative is better, we'll recommend that instead. Our loyalty is to you, the reader, not to our affiliate partners.
